First Day Reactions

The first day of school! I can't tell if I am happy or sad!?!?!? Cameron is in High School!! I know that is very scary! He stayed at his mom's tonight but through texting I found out that he had an OK day. That was about all he said. (typical teenager) Trent is in 3rd grade and Brayden in Kindergarten. I was a little sad that I had to rush from dropping off Trent to get Brayden to his class but it didn't bother Trent one bit. He has friends in his class that have been there since first grade so he was not phased. When I asked him what he thought of third grade he replied, "awesome!" Now, Brayden I was a little worried about. He has told me that he does not want to go to school for awhile now. After this morning I realized he was making it all up. He has his friend Nick in his class with him which makes him very happy. I had to talk him into giving me a hug and I couldn't talk him into waving to me goodbye. :( When I asked him how his day was he said, "good." His favorite part was playing on the playground and he made one new friend but he doesn't know his name yet. Neither one of my boys needed me today, that was a sad realization I came to. I guess they are growing up. All in all it was a good day and Jaxon didn't seem to miss his brothers too bad, we will see how the rest of the week goes.
 

Welcome Kason!!!

What a surprise! Saturday morning I woke up at about 6:00 and was having different pains I had never had before. They were not too bad so I went back to sleep until about 8:30. When I woke up then they were worse, so after calling my advisers (mom & Tracey) I got up and started doing the normal routine. It only took about 1/2 hour and I had three contractions. Nothing major just a little pain but nothing that I would normally worry about. I decided to call the doctor and they told me to go to the hospital and be checked out. Now, I have never gone into labor before so I had no idea what was going on, besides the fact I was scheduled for a c-section on the 18th. I decided if this was going to happen today that I needed to clean up my house. I recruited the boys to help me. We cleaned, packed a bag for me just in case and showered all of us. I took the boys over to Tracey's about 12:30 and headed for the hospital. I left my bag at home thinking they were just going to tell me to go home and relax. I called Randy at work just to let him know what was going on but told him not to worry about coming to the hospital and I would call him if I needed him. Well to my surprise after about 1/2 being at the hospital the nurse came in and said they are going to be doing a c-section at 4:00. WHAT!! WHAT!! I DON'T EVEN HAVE MY BAG, CAMERA AND MY HUSBANDS NOT HERE! I get on the phone and after 5 minutes of convincing Randy that I wasn't joking he was on his way from work. By the time I made the call to Tracey and my mom they nurse had come back in. The news this time was Dr. Turner didn't want to wait until then with it being my 4th c-section and I was having so many contractions. They moved up the time to 2:30 or 3:00 as soon as they could prep me for surgery. This was only about an hour away! Randy shows up in his work clothes all dirty from trimming all day and has to put on his scrubs right away. David gets there shortly after Randy with Joe and Tracey's video camera!!( Thanks Dave) Then we were off to have a baby 2 and 1/2 weeks early! Kason was born at 3:16pm! He was perfect! I guess he wanted to finish us off with a bang! I have never gone into labor with any of the others and although I have always hoped all of them would come early they never did. Kason definitely wanted to be different. He weighed 5lbs 7 oz and 18 inches long. Our smallest by far! Well because he was so small the nurses said that he had some issues with keeping his blood sugar up. He was admitted to the NICU Sunday morning at about 2:00. They had to put an IV in him to give him sugar water. They then had to check his blood sugar before he ate each time. After being on the IV for 24 hours he was well enough to stop the IV. I went down every three hours to feed and hold him. It was heartbreaking for me and I just wanted to take him home. Well, I got my wish and we were both discharged Tuesday morning!! He is doing wonderful now! We went to the doctor yesterday and he has gained another ounce since we left the hospital on Tuesday and she says he looks great. What a joy it is to have him here. It is amazing that it doesn't matter how many kids you have you love them all the same. You are as excited to have the 4th just as much as you were to have your 1st. One Special Day

On August 1, 2009 Trenton was baptized! He was able to share his special day with one of his best friends Mason. The spirit was so strong there at the baptism, I think most people were in tears. The talks that were given and the musical number that was given were perfect. Trenton has always had such a strong spirit about him but it is even more now. We gave him his scriptures that night after his baptism and he read a page that night in them. He told me that he wanted to read a page a night, and he has so far. (The little child shall lead!) He reminds us all of the time now to say family prayer and he will not got to bed unless he has said personal prayers. I hope that I can follow in his example to become more like Jesus. Thanks Trent for just being YOU!
 

After the baptism all the family came over to our house for a barbecue and some fun! We rented a water slide that fit perfectly on the side of our house. The kids stayed out there for hours. We all had a great time visiting, eating good food, playing and having slushies! I appreciate all of the family that helped out and for their love and support. I don't know what I would do without all of the support that they give me and my little ( well I guess we are not so little anymore) family! The Lord truly has a plan and sends us to live in families to carry out his plan.

 

I LOVE THESE WOMEN

As I was posting Trent's birthday I realized I forgot something when I saw these pictures. Last Wednesday night I VERY RELUCTANTLY went to our activity for young women! Why do you ask? They decided to throw me a shower!! Now despite what some people think I really don't live to be the center of attention and besides the fact I already have three boys I don't NEED a shower!!! Well, I had to eat my words after that night. The young women and the women that I serve with are the BEST! I know everyone says that but they truly are. I love every single one of the girls and look forward to seeing them each week. I was really nervous when I first got called into young women's because I had no clue what to do with a bunch of girls! All I have is boys in my life and growing up with 7 brothers and 1 sister I didn't have much experience in that area as well. I have to say this is my favorite calling so far! The women that I serve with are wonderful friends of mine and we all have so much fun together that it makes serving the girls that much easier! Now we are missing our fearless leader in this picture!( Nicole you were missed!) It was a fun night and I thank everyone that was involved!
Picture explanation--- The bottom picture you notice a string wrapped around the three of us. We were playing the game to guess how big around I was, well Maisie guessed I was that big around! We fit all three of us in there!!! I thought it was funny and I told her to keep the string so someday we can use it at her baby shower.

 

All About Trenton!!!

On Friday our Trenton turned eight years old!!!! I can't believe it! From the time that he was born until now he has brought so much joy and love into our home and our family! I remember when he was only about 1 1/2 when he would see anyone that would drop something he would go over and help them pick it up. He has always had such a kind and caring disposition. He truly wants to help people and he is great at it. Even though he is so young he can tell what people need and without being told what to do he does it. He is a wonderful example to his younger brothers that look up to him so much! He loves to wrestle, play sports, swim, read, write and he can do anything he sets his mind to. We are so proud of him and are lucky to be his parents!

He wanted to go to the lake for his birthday so Randy, Quinton, Trent and Brayden headed for the lake at 4:30 in the morning on Friday! Yes, I said 4:30! They said they were going to be out there ALL DAY but I didn't really believe them. Well, I was wrong they didn't come home until 5:00 that night!! They all looked exhausted but had a ton of fun. They had stories to tell about jumping off cliffs riding the tube and fishing! That is if you can call it fishing they didn't catch one thing! They had fun and that is all that matters. After they got home we rushed and got ready for dinner. We went to Olive Garden which is one of Trent's favorite places. He just loves the bread sticks and Alfredo sauce! Grandpa and Grandma met us there then we came back to our house for a little cake and ice cream. What a great day! Happy Birthday Trent we love you!!!
