I almost had a heart attack seeing Trent walk up to the mound ready to pitch for the very first time!







This is Trent's first year of being in AA, which is the first year of kid pitch. I wasn't looking forward to this because baseball is long and boring enough, but now that kids are pitching it is even longer! Well, it has only been two games and it hasn't been so bad. About the 3 inning of his second game I heard his coach tell him to keep warm. I thought this was strange because Trent was wearing a long sleeve and looked warm to me. Then it hit me that the last pitcher was up on his pitches and it was time for a new one. I walked over to Randy and told him I think Trent might be pitching next inning. Randy's face looked scared! Then the inning started and there walked Trent confidently out to the pitchers mound to take some warm up pitches. I can't tell you how nervous I was for him! Not that I didn't believe he could do it, but the whole game depends on the pitcher in this division, that's a lot of PRESSURE. We watched him as he was warming up and he looked good. The first pitch came and the umpire called it a ball. Then he got into his groove and started throwing strikes. He struck one kid out and then the next kid hit a pop fly. Trenton called it and caught it with ease! He only walked a few out of the two innings he pitched which ended the game in a tie! They were out of time or they would have played one more inning to break the tie. The whole time I was watching him I was a nervous wreck. I even walked over to the coach and said, "Mike what are you thinking you need to warn me next time he is going out there to pitch!" The coach then asked if this was the first time he had ever pitch and I told him that it was! Randy was nervous for him too so he went and sat in the car because he couldn't watch. The umpire that was in the outfield happened to be Cameron's old coach from T-Ball so he kept yelling Trenton's name and telling him to SMILE. He did and great job and when he doesn't think about it he does amazing. We couldn't have been prouder of him as parents. He has always been a star to us but now other people got to see him shine today.  After the game was over the coach gave him the game ball! GREAT JOB TRENTON!

















































SUMMER TIME!

This is my first official summer time with my kids! They have always been on the 12 month school schedule until now. I have to say I have mixed feelings about this. Right now I love it but talk to me again in a few weeks and see how much I love it. I have a few goals for the summer; first, let the kids have more friends come over. This is a picture of them outside in the sandbox today with their friends/cousins. They love the sandbox and their favorite thing to make in it are lakes. It keeps them busy for hours.  Second, I need to start blogging again. I haven't blogged in a really long time and need to start again. Third, have fun with my boys! I am always concerned with so many other things that I forget to just have fun with them while they want to still hang out with me. So, I need ideas for CHEAP fun things to do for the summer.

Where Did the Time Go?

It seems like the time is going by faster and faster these days. I need to do some major catch up on the blog. So here is a little bit of catch up.
In May we HAD to get Kason's haircut. Of all the boys he has definitely had the most hair. Brayden had a patch of hair in the back that we cut when he was a few months old but none of the boys ever had their hair cut until after a year old. So here is Kason with Aunt Brenda before his haircut at 9 months old. He was not sure about what was going on at all.

If I said he cried the whole time he was getting his haircut that would be an understatement. He definitely was screaming!!!

June seemed like it came and went by so fast. In the middle of the month I left my kids home with their dad for four days and went to girls camp. This was a really HARD thing for me. I had never left Kason and the other times I have left the boys I was with Randy. I wasn't quite sure how Randy would handle it all but after my extensive written directions on the schedule and what to feed Kason he did great. I think he appreciates me a lot more now. Lets just say he doesn't give me grief any more when the laundry is not done! After all the anxiety about going and the homesickness while I was there it all turned out wonderful! I LOVE the girls and the leaders that I work with in young womens. The girls are so fun and they made the whole trip so much fun. We went to Maple Grove which is up by Scipio. It was really beautiful there. We had fun hiking, river rafting, going to the Manti pageant and just having fun together! This is the group that went the day of the Manti pageant.

Wayne and Dina came and met us there which was so fun to get to catch up with them and spend a little time with them.

1st Place

Our little team took first place in the rookie division last night! I am so proud of our team! I think baseball is long and boring EXCEPT when it is tournament time. Trenton and Brayden both did a wonderful job as usual. Trent had two great hits, a double and single. Brayden hit his first triple! Since it was the game for first place they announced all the players before the game started then afterwards they gave them trophies for first place. It was so much fun, the boys were so excited that they were hard to get to sleep. They even woke up early this morning and wanted to watch the video of the game. Coach Randy was excited too, he had a hard time going to sleep as well. Great job boys I am so proud of you!

Take Me Out to the Ball Game

I had to write a quick post and let all my boys know how proud I am of them. Our lives have been consumed by baseball for the past couple months. When I say consumed I mean one 2 sometimes 3 hour for my kids practice a week plus 2, two hour games a week. So it takes up most of our time. This year Randy wanted to coach so Trenton and Brayden could be on the same team. Trenton was so young that he could play another year of rookies and Brayden was old enough that we could play him up if Randy coached. It has been so fun to have them both on the same team. Randy also roped my nephew Zach into being one of his assistant coaches which works out great because not only do my boys love him the whole team loves him! Anyway, we didn't keep score all season but we have a tournament that we keep score in that started last week. We won both of our tournament games and are now playing for 1st place in our league. If we win then we will go to the Tournament of Champions and play against the other teams in the valley. Last nights game was exciting! Brayden hit his first double and started a rally. He was the first one to score in the game! Trent always does a wonderful job and last night was no different. He had a nice hit out to left field and did a great job as short stop. Randy is a great coach and loves when his kids do great! He even picked up one of our players in the air last night. Although I complain that baseball in long and boring I love watching my boys play and love it when the games are scored and close in points. It just makes it more exciting to watch.

Jerrick is Home

My nephew Jerrick came home from his mission on Monday! What a great day it was. I love when my nephews come home from their missions because my kids think they are celebrities. They were excited but I am not quite sure if they knew why they were excited. After he finally came down the escalator and he gathered his bags. The large group of us was walking across to the parking garage. I could see all of my kids except Trenton. I figured he was with one of our family members. Well, when we got to the parking garage and everyone started going their separate ways there was still no sign of Trent. I started asking around if anyone had seen him and after a few no answers I started to panic. Then someone said, "he was rolling Jerrick's luggage." I caught up to them and sure enough there he was rolling Jerrick's luggage right by him. I loved the way he was looking at Jerrick with admiration. I am so glad I have such a wonderful family that raises great kids that my boys could look up to! After the airport we went over to Rob and Liz's for family home evening. We listened to Jerrick's testimony, took some pictures ate and swam. What a great day!

Basketball

I know it's a little late but I have to catch up on our basketball season. I have to say this is my favorite sport to watch. The boys both did great! We were lucky enough to have Uncle Rob as the coach for both teams.

We missed the last game and party because we were in Disneyland so Rob came over and brought the boys their trophies.

Trenton excelled in this sport this year. He started to become aggressive and get right into the game. It always takes him a little while to warm up in whatever sport he is playing but this season he jumped right in. He was able to have his cousins Trevor and Lance on the team. It was so fun to watch these guys play. The team had a PERFECT season. That's right they won all of their games! We were very proud of Trenton and glad he had fun this season.

Brayden, oh Brayden! He is my most competitive boy thus far. He puts his heart and soul into whatever sport he is playing. This kid would come home and watch basketball on tv then go out in the backyard and try whatever he saw the pros do. His age bracket is really funny to watch. Most of the kids get mauled, so he was never able to get a shot but that never stopped him from trying. He was able to have his cousin Dallin on the team with him so it was such a fun season!
